We're looking forward to celebrating the Class of 2026 with the Boise State community on May 8th and 9th. Below you'll find helpful information to know before you go, as well as answers to some of the most common questions we receive prior to the ceremonies. SPRING 2026 COMMENCEMENT DIGITAL PROGRAM
At the end of the ceremony, graduates will exit out of the auxiliary gym on both the northwest and southwest sides of the Arena. As a friendly reminder, we ask that you take photos and clear the area as quickly as possible to continute the celebration off-campus to ensure guests for the next ceremony can arrive and get in as safely and quickly as possible. Thank you!

Are tickets required or guest seating assigned?
No, guest seating for the ceremony will be general admission on a first-come, first-served basis. No advance ticket reservations will be required. If you have a split group they can enter from different entrances and sit wherever they like.
In an effort for all graduates to bring guests, we kindly ask graduates to limit their guests to 10 or fewer.
Can I bring a bag into the arena?
For graduates, bags of any kind are not permitted on the arena floor. Walk-through magnetometers will be used to screen all students entering the stadium. There will not be a secure location for any bags or items to be held during the ceremony.
For guests, clear bags no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ are required. Any wallet or small purse that does not exceed 6.5” x 4.5” x 1.5” will be permitted. All large bags and backpacks will not be permitted; exceptions may be made (but are not guaranteed) for diaper or medically necessary bags. All bags are subject to security inspection and search.

Where can I park?
Student drop off
Bronco Lane accessed through University Dr. will be open for student drop off prior to the ceremony.
Parking is free during the commencement ceremonies. This includes all general and reserved parking lots, pay lots, and parking garages on campus.

How long is the ceremony?
Each ceremony will last approximately 2 hours.
Graduates will need to remain seated for the entire duration of the ceremony.
Will the ceremonies be live streamed?
Yes, all ceremonies will stream live on the commencement main page for off-campus guests who cannot be in attendance.
How can I get special accommodations due to limited mobility or accessibility?
Seating for guests with accessible needs and guests in wheelchairs is available on all levels of the arena. Accessible seating information is available at the ExtraMile Arena Box Office, by calling 208-426-1766, or by email at extramilearena@boisestate.edu.
Elevators are located in the lobby of entrances 1 or 2 of the ExtraMile Arena.
ADA parking is available near the arena on a first come, first served basis with valid handicapped placard. Golf carts will be available to assist guests with limited mobility from further parking lots and a shuttle will run from the Lincoln garage to the Arena before and after the ceremonies.

Can I bring my graduate gifts?
- Unwrapped gifts, flowers, and other items are allowed into the venue for this event.
- Glass items/flower vases, large gifts, balloons and any other items deemed a possible disruption will be allowed in but must be checked and held in the lobby for pickup after the event.
- Please do not bring signs larger than 11x17 and no sticks attached. Fat heads, banners, etc. will not be allowed in the arena.
- Flowers and related graduation items will be available for purchase at the Arena while supplies last.
Can I bring water?
Empty, reusable water bottles are allowed. Pre-sealed water and any other filled containers are not allowed.

Hearing Impairment Assistance Available

- The Arena has an Assistive Listening System (ALS). At the entry, ask a Guest Services staff member for a receiver unit.
Accessible Parking
- The first two rows in the West Stadium parking lot (between ExtraMile Arena and Albertsons Stadium) will be reserved for accessible parking.
- When the West Stadium parking lot fills, additional accessible parking can be found in the Lincoln Garage. We encourage guests with accessible needs to take the shuttle, as they have been outfitted to assist you and provide comfortable passage between the Garage and Arena.
- Elevators are located in the lobby of entrances 1 and 2 of ExtraMile Arena.
Nursing Mother's Room
Nursing Mothers Room:
- Those who require a more private location in which to feed or pump may use the Nursing Mothers Room, located on the ground level between Lobby 3 and Lobby 4. If you need assistance locating this room, please contact the nearest Arena staff or representative.
Seating for Guests with Accessible Needs
Seating for Guests with Accessible Needs:
- Seating for guests with accessible needs and guests in wheelchairs is available.
- Spaces to accommodate wheelchairs and/or chairs required for accessible seating needs are limited and located on all three seating levels.
- The top row of seats in the parquet level will be signed/reserved for guests with accessible seating needs. These seats are available on a first-come/first-served basis.
- If you or a member of your party sit in this top row but don’t have an accessible seating need, you may be relocated.
Sensory Room + Sensory Kits
Sensory Kits:
- ExtraMile Arena is equipped with complimentary sensory kits, complete with passive noise-canceling headphones, fidget toys, a weighted lap pad, and a verbal cue card.
- A guest in need of a sensory kit can request one from any of our Guest Services staff.
- When checking out a kit, guests will be required to leave valid identification (e.g., a driver’s license) as collateral.
Sensory Room:
- ExtraMile Arena has a sensory room that creates a safe and calming environment for guests who are experiencing sensory issues.
- Located in Lobby 3, the sensory room provides a space for guests who may feel overwhelmed or overstimulated.

For guests needing listening devices with Spanish interpretation, please notify the commencement committee at commencement@boisestate.edu at least two weeks prior to the ceremony.
Wheelchair Assistance
Wheelchair Assistance:
- Guest Services staff wheelchair escorts are available at any entry point for transportation to and from seating areas.
- Please work with staff if you need help in finding a seat for the duration of the event, as Arena wheelchairs are reserved for guests requesting assistance.

Parking is FREE on campus on Friday May 8th and Saturday May 9th during the commencement ceremonies.
Bronco Lane can be used for student drop-off through University Dr.
The map below provides some alternate routes to get to ExtraMile Arena. Please utilize the most effective route to alleviate traffic on Broadway Ave, Myrtle St, and University to ensure all guests arrive on time, safely, and efficiently.
Traffic Info
- On Saturday, May 9, Bronco Lane will be one-way to allow safe drop-off for graduates and guests. Please enter from the eastern side of Bronco Lane, closest to Albertsons Stadium.
- Traffic will be heaviest during the hour and a half leading up to each ceremony as graduates check in and guests arrive.
- Traffic will increase again between ceremonies as attendees exit and new guests arrive. Each ceremony will last approximately two hours.
Shuttle Info
A Boise State shuttle will run between Lincoln Avenue Garage and ExtraMile Arena.

The Friday shuttle will begin at 1 p.m. and end at 6 p.m.

Saturday shuttle begins at 7 a.m. and will end at 9 p.m.

Permit holders in these areas may experience limited availability and are encouraged to plan accordingly.
To help support access during this high-traffic time, cross-parking will be in effect all day, both days of the ceremonies. This means that permit holders may park in parking lots outside of their designated zones without receiving a citation.
